Issue 2 is important to Ohio’s economy and very important to our farm. A Yes vote supports our farm by helping to keep animal husbandry regulations and legislation in the hands of Ohioans. If you have seen our farm, you already know that we provide a high level of care for our animals and always have their welfare at the forefront of our decision making. Most local farmers keep the same or even higher standards. The passage of issue 2 will ensure that this level of care continues without unnecessary legal restrictions that will dramatically increase the costs of food at the grocery store, drive local farmers out of business, and increase food imports.
Preparations for the 2009 Stark County Farm Tour continue this week in earnest in anticipation of a great day this coming Sunday. Our stop on the Farm Tour will feature:
- Hay Rides
- Beefalo Cattle
- Other Cattle Breeds
- Farm Equipment
- Utility Dog and Agility Demonstrations by Papp’s Dog Services
- Pet Adoptions through Friends of Stark Pound
- Food including burgers and Beefalo Chili
and much more.
Join us Sunday October 4th for the Stark County Farm Tour. We are one of four stops on this self guided tour that runs from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Tours of our facilities and herd will be given throughout the day. The Stark County Cattlemens’ Association will be here serving food including hamburgers and Beefalo chili or stew.
Last night we took delivery of a group of new heifers from High Evergreen Farm. They should be a nice addition to our breeding program and should start dropping calves early next spring.
